Cell Phone Integration
The Toshiba CIX family of systems now has cell phone integration functionality allowing you to integrate your office phone and your cell phone.
One of these features allows callers to reach you on your cell phone from the Toshiba voice mail greeting. Calls that don't connect are returned to the Toshiba PBX voice mail. The operation is as follows:
- Caller calls your office phone and gets your voice mail.
- Voice mail message asks caller to leave message or dial 6 to call your cell phone.
- Caller dials 6 and system asks them to state their name (this is optional)
- System calls your cell phone and when answered the Toshiba system tells you who is trying to reach you and that you may dial 1 to accept the call or dial 2 to send the call back to the Toshiba voice mail
- If you dial 1, you are talking to the caller.
- If you dial 2 or don't answer, the call returns to Toshiba voice mail and the caller hears a second message that states you were not available on the cell phone and to please leave a message.
Benefits
- You don't have to give out your cell phone number. Callers may reach you by dialing one number.
- Callers don't have to decide whether to call your office phone or cell phone.
- Callers don't have to hang up and dial your cell phone number.
Cell Phone notification of voice mail messages
A second feature will notify you via cell phone whenever you have a voice mail message. This feature works as follows:
- A caller leaves you a voice mail message
- After a predetermined amount of time (from immediate to a few hours) your cell phone is called
- Answer the call and you are connected to the voice mail system.
- Enter your code and obtain your voice mail messages.
You are not only notified of the voice mail message but are connected to the system by answering the call!
